I have the RMI Encoder with the temp sensor located in the NACA scoop on the
left side of the fuselage forward of the door.  I consistently get OAT
readings that are 10 to 15 deg F high.
Does anyone else have this problem?  Is there a simple fix or do I need to
move the sensor?
Leon,

1. Use the RMI Manual to calibrate the OAT sensor.

2.  The sensor is very sensitive and can be affected by the sun and internal cabin temperatures - even those transmitted physically by the wire.  Some of us have mounted the probe to be completely external to the cockpit - I put mine on the bottom of the wing, 2 inches forward of the midpoint of the left main gear well opening.  Thus, the probe is protected from the sun and, the probe case and wiring are not affected by warm cabin temps.
