Sorry, I already cut the cowl 9.4 x 10.5.
The coolers lay very close to the right cowl side. I don't think I have enough room to elongate the exit surface like Ed did. After finding out that louvers are only made to 5" each, I decided that I would mold a rear facing pair of scoops in firberglass.
My first mold is C**P, but I have a new idea. I'll build a male plug that fits directly to the cooler and out the side of the cowl.
I'll lay it up flat on a table with a flange, and attach it from the inside so it won't show an edge buildup on the outside of the VANS cowl.
I would have used a James Rotary cowl, but they were not available when I started, and the Fred Breese early RV-8 mount wouldn't let the turbo sit far enough aft to fit in it anyway. "As you make yer choices, you limit yer options".
