I saw the pad, but didn't know what it was.  I looked at the old manifold pics earlier, and saw how closely they fit, but couldn't find pics of the new one.  I really could use a new intake on the RV-3, and I'll buy one of these in a heartbeat, as long as it's reasonably priced.   
 
Also the throttle butterfly opening is about 7.5mm (2.95 inches)  
 
When I looked at the pic with the ruler, I initially thought "7 inches, damn", then I remembered that converting to metrics lie they told us in school 30 years ago :-)

I can't immagine these exactly being cheap.  Expensive will probably be the word we eventually use to describe them.  But I also expect them to be worth the price.    I would get one except for the fact that my turbo would no longer fit...
