Do you normally switch it off once you're airborne or do you
leave it on all the time?
Bernie
I keep the EWP on all
the time. The first item on my engine start checklist is to turn on the
EWP, and listen for it to make sure it's running, and sounds normal. The
only time I'd ever want to turn it off is if I had an alternator failure.
Unfortunately, since the most likely cause of an "alternator failure" is the
belt, I don't dare turn off the EWP. I'm installing a proper temp
sensor on the rear housing location, and may use it to determine if there's
flow, by turning off the EWP momentarily. With the Evans coolant, that
should be reasonably safe. I could also just use that sensor to trigger
the pump as well. Lot's of options, and too many other things to worry
about at the moment.
Cheers,
Rusty (more %#&*@
fiberglass in my immediate future)
