Here is a shot of my engine on the continental engine mount with aluminum windage plate sitting on lord mounts with the oil cooler and exhaust mockup. All this on the Wittman Tailwind.  JohnD

 
Cool.  Just to get this straight, are you saying that the mount is made for a Continental engine, and hasn't been modified?  Amazingly good fit.  The oil pan might be a challenge, but far better than having to make a mount from scratch.  Maybe you can just make the pan out of PVC too :-) 
 
Is your intention to use the cast exhaust manifold so you can go mufflerless?  I think this is easy, but not the best for power, which might explain where some of Paul's power is going.
