Hi, Wendell...as you can see, it is quite thick. I need to bo back to the airport to measure it, but my best guess is that it started out as a 1/2" thick plate of aluminum. They used an end mill and milled out a rather large pocket to reduce weight. Their website may tell more info regarding the thickness of the plate. Check out Conversion Concepts www.conversionconcepts.com  Click on the motor mount plate for more info.  It has cutouts for the dipstick tube, oil pickup tube, chain clearance and pressure release valve, plus a pocket milled out to lighten the unit by 2.85 pounds.  Hope this helps.  Paul Conner

Paul,
What is the thickness of the motor mount plate?  This looks similar to what I am atempting to make.
Wendell

Hey, Rusty....I braved the 50 degree cold temperatures and went to the hangar and removed the cowling to take these pictures of the fitting I substituted for the banjo fitting. Originally, I took a file and made the head of the motor mount bolt about 1/3 shorter to allow more clearance for the banjo fitting.  After I replaced the banjo fitting with this adapter, I found I had a little more clearance. The Earl's aluminum female swivel is fairly thin-walled, and there is more daylight between the fitting and motor mount bolt now. I should have taken this picture from a lower angle so you could see that there is about 1/8" distance between the motor mount bolt and the new hose/fitting combination. Hope this helps.  Paul Conner
