hear, hear
also i should add that if you have a box close to you, it takes 20 minutes of your time to go out and get in shape
imagine playing golf how much time you lose. In 20 minutes of practice my head clear up, i get the dust off the top of the wings, find the credit card i lost 6 months ago,
nice overhead, 2 loops, a couple of vertical snap rolls, a cuban eight nothing fancy no outside loops it makes my day go better. Then i can go and spend the rest of the day in the operating room. Its also cheap 20 minutes of fuel in my zlin-50 is the cheapest form of pleasure i can get.

merry xmas to all listers

I want to second the suggestion to consider aerobatics. Since our Lancairs are more challenging when slowed, I believe you get a valuable perspective from the proficiency gained by flying in all corners of the envelope in an aerobatic airplane. It will give a stronger respect as to why our IV's should never get near stall. It will also engrain the proper control response should a pilot make the mistake of getting near a departure stall in a Lancair. Just make sure you don't try any of the maneuvers you learn in the IV.

I was one of those guys who got sick initially but elected to stay with it. I now have over 300 hours of acro and believe it keeps me safer and has kept me more interested in flying. It also humbles you since you can see your proficiency decay if you lay off just a few weeks..... keeps you coming back. The main safety gain is the training that allows you to not get disoriented...... there is no longer an unusual attitude so you can fly out of or recover from any aircraft position.

Besides...... Acro is fun stuff.

Subject: [LML] Helicopter Lessons

I've been getting the itch to do something different.  Anyone have advice
about taking helicopter lessons?  There's a Bell 47 trainer nearby with a
small flight school.

Perhaps our Lancair family can render comment (either way).
