Check
hotels.com for room rates in the Reno area (and do it now, they may have some
left at a good rate). We have been staying at the Nugget in Sparks, a
suburb of Reno, for the past few years. Seems like it was around $95 a
night for a very nice room, all you have to do is avoid the machines and
tables.
If you
can take time, the nearby Lake Tahoe area is beautiful from the air and
ground. We had been talking about going to the Reno Races for years, must
have had a good time, we moved to the west side of Tahoe after our first
visit. OK, we were looking for a place to relocate, but it is a nice place
to visit.
