My wife and I are considering a trip to Mexico from Illinois in about four
weeks, and I have always been interested in flying to Baja.

Since I have discontinued my Avemco insurance coverage on my LIV, and I am
now self-insuring my plane, getting a short term rider covering Mexican
liability is not an option from Avemco.

I assume that Mexico is still insisting on insurance coverage for airplanes?

Is there a Mexican company that sells short-term liability coverage?

And finally, have any of you flown to Baja in more recent months, and if so,
what is the current climate for pilots?
