OK! -- You are on.  I will fly it WOT and stop for gas and still beat all those who wish to dawdle for hours running their beautiful high-speed steed far below the optimal design velocity.  I will be more efficient because I will not loiter about nuclear power plants, having to explain my presence to a pair of F-16s or wait for the weather to catch me or be hit from behind by bugs.  The cheapest part of flying is the cost of fuel.

Forget the IPAQ, talk to FSS, get PIREPS, talk to pilots at other altitudes.  A race with a fuel stop is like planning a war -- convince the other guy to land on the runway furthest from the FBO,  use your cell phone to offer more money if you are fueled first, pretend you are out of fuel so you can land first, get Grease to go wide on base to final, if two FBOs exist, have each one fuel a wing -- Diabolical plotting and scheming beats the symmetric beauty of a mathematically sophisticated multivariate analysis any day.
