Also consider you are flying a NON-certificated experimental amateur built aircraft in IMC for which there has been no system safety analysis of the reliability of the entire airframe/ sytem.

Brent Regan wrote a very good post a while back about why you should have a 
steam gauge backup. Consider static interference.
