Hi Dico,

I believe that Vans Air Force (http://www.vansairforce.com/) holds the honor of having the most frequented experimental aviation forum, and they have a section for posting stuff for sale.  As long as it is usable in an RV and you don't mention your aircraft type, that is...  People who fly every sort of experimental frequent the site, you just aren't allowed to try to sell any type of airplane but RV.  Parts are fine as long as it's not a "Lancair propeller" etc.

I have sold many items over the past 6 years through that forum, never a problem except sometimes with payment.  Had one fellow who would not send a personal check or use PayPal, wanted to use money orders and he was out of state.  I know that it was still PROBABLY ok, but I don't know him and meeting face to face was not possible.  He ended up not being able to set up PayPal in time to arrange the sale as fast as he wanted; may hear back from him or may not.

I'm a longstanding member of that forum and enough Mods know me that people know (or I can refer them to the mods if they don't know) they can track me down if I don't follow through.  What I have typically done for out-of-state folks just send me a personal check, then once the check clears send off the package using a handy package store.  I email them continuously, and will always accept return of the item for full refund (but have never had to do so).  For radios, etc. I always get lots of photos & the serial number, etc. to insure they don't send me back a bad one and claim a refund, but again I've never had any issues.  There is a certain level of safety in the fact that people who aren't pilots and don't need stuff won't be trying to buy stuff that way.

Had one item out of about 20 that did not sell, everything else generally sold within a week.

Best regards,

Bill Reister

Hello,

After a trip to OshKosh, I'm planning on re-doing the panel in my IV-P.  I'm wondering where the best place would be to get 2.25" airspeed, altimeter, attitude indicator.  The instruments I have now have Lancair logos on them, so I presume they shipped with the kit.  Does Lancair have the 2.25" instruments as well.

Also, if you were  redoing the panel with a Garmin G3X system (3 screens with battery backup), would you even bother putting in the 3 steam guages as backup or is 3 screens redundant enough?

Finally, is there a market for the instruments/avionics I take out?  Perhaps Barnstormers....    stuff like vision microsystems engine monitor, sandel ehsi, steam guages, etc.

Thanks folks!
