I'd love to see a picture or two.  Do you have any discernment as to the
cause beyond the forces of the turn onto the runway.  Like, rust? Or light
weight metal?,  etc.

Thanks for sharing.  Your input may save a bud from similar fate.

My 1990 235/340 (1987 kit 173) had the left upper tube to the left nose gear
pivot block fail yesterday resulting in a nose gear up landing. I believe
the tube failure occurred after I made a sharp turn to runway line up. It
retracted but the nose gear up light did not illuminate. It would not extend
since it twisted and jammed in the tunnel. I have not had any trouble with
shimmy. The aircraft has about 1,000 hours.
