I used Avemco the first year (2001-2002) for my ES. After a trouble free year, they declined to renew not because there was any issue with myself or Lancair ES's. I was advised they were concerned about composites. At the time they were EAA's choice insurance vendor and they were cherry picking what aircraft they would insure (they also refused RV's at the time). Many, many of us contacted EAA directly to complain and EAA after studying the problem did the right thing by dropping them.

I would never consider them again even for a spam can.
