In my experience in a IV-P, with Bryans engine I might add, I had excessive
heat. I found that we were far too hot all the time even on a cold day in
Canada. Turns out that my mixer box was stuck in the full hot position
because the excessive heat had melted the plastic seals and was preventing the
valves from moving from full hot. So I would caution you on on using epoxies
as the teflon seals had melted. My .02
