Builders, I'm planning the placement of the crew (pilot/co-pilot) floorboards for my IV-P project. The placement (height and length) is at the builder's discretion. Anyone have recommendations or considerations as to the dimensions and placement? Should I just check my shoe size for fit with the rudder pedals for the height? Is there an advantage to extending the aft portion of the floorboards to the instrument panel station to hide the lines that extend from the centerline tunnel?
More detail:
I intend to make both sides removable as I will have brake lines under the pilot side as well as the fuel line under the co-pilot side. I also plan to support the floorboards with a flange around the perimeter. (Thanks to photos provided by Bob Pastusek.) I'm also planning on putting the small auxiliary battery (24V, two alt, two battery system) on the aft face of the pilot side firewall, under or at the floorboards. Barry Knotts
