I was told this by Lance and Don Goetz. Don was at one time the Chief
pilot and test pilot for Lancair. Many of the collapsed gear incidences
go unreported. The bottom line is to fly whichever way seems safe to
each individual pilot. Actually, I really don't even look much at my
airspeed indicator in VFR conditions, the airplane just sets up nice at
the speeds we have been talking about.
