John,
I would certainly not discount your experience with the
Legacy... I've flown one once... No stalls and no slow flight, but I did fly it
low level and did an acceptable (ask Don Barnes) approach and landing. I now
have approcximately 70 hours in my Lancair 360.
It is certain that these airplanes have less than perfect slow
flight/stall characteristics... However, they are not out of line with other
high performance airplanes (P-51, T-6, etc...) Proper training, proper vigilance
and so forth will result in hundreds if not thousands of hours of fun, safe
flying in the airplane (Legacy, LNC2...).
Just some food for thought. They aren't Cessnas, but then
again, we like that. Again... Proper training, vigilance and knowing the limits
will ensure your deep enjoyment of the biulding and flying of a
Lancair.
