Here's some interesting stuff from the Reno Air Races:
- Daryl Greenamyer flying his Twin Turbo Legacy (Race 33) registered a new
course record of 347.7 MPH during his qualifying run.
- Rick's Supercharged Legacy 'A.S.S.' (Race 99) blew a piston but was able
to qualify (after some hard/fast work) on the last day for qualifications
flown by Dave Morss.
Day One Race Results:
351 Blue Bijou Thunder Mustang J. Parker 318.93
99 A.S.S Supercharged Legacy D. Morss 317.01
33 Lancair TwinTrubo Legacy D. Greenamyer 316.28*
*This was a spectacular race to watch! The Thunder Mustang was leading the
first few laps then Race 33 simply blew past Race 351 winning the race.
Unfortunately, Race 33 was penalized for low flying and ended up in third.
BTW, Lancair has a COUPLE of turbine birds here on display.
Today, Friday will be our last day to watch the races, heading back to New
Joisey tomorrow...
