and enclosed upper plenum design. As we fly higher and faster cooling
efficiency becomes more important and the benefits of good design more
evident.

Most excellent post and the picture shows a very nice plenum. A couple of
questions, though: It looks like the cross-section area increases as you go
back from the front of the engine - wouldn't you really like to have the
area decrease from the first row of cylinders to the last? Also, why
connect the two sides of the plenum since there is nothing in the middle to
be cooled? Simplicity of construction, I assume? Finally, where did the
engine mount come from?
