It is not clear where the 27.6 oz measurement is taken.
What we did was estimate what we were going to need in paint to cover
the rudder. The equivalent of a cup of water was our best guess (same
cup you mix the epoxy in). With the rudder in a horizontal position
supported at the hinges, the cup was placed in the center of the rudder.
( We measured and calculated the center.) We had to add weight to
obtain a forward balance by extending the counterbalance forward from
the original outline. We ended up with a positive weight forward after
final paint. Pays to be lucky.
