Didn't Mike Campbell's "Dream Catcher" have a jettisonable canopy?
I don't know how Mike did it, but my approach would be a big honking lever to yank the two pins which attach the front of the forward-hinge canopy to the header tank. It would be nice if an attached cable unlatched the rear of the canopy as well (a cleaner separation).
And no, I haven't done any engineering on this.

[Mike's approach was a T-handle attached to a pair of cables that
removed the forward hinge pins. I think there actually may have been a
pair of them, one to remove some C-rings or circlips from the pins, the
other to remove the pins themselves. I hope this helps.
