I camped there ONCE years ago by some all-night beer drinkers, and swore: Never Again! I go to a motel. Part of getting old I guess :)

   I had forgotten about that possibility.  That might also account for the lower than normal alternator voltage (drawing current through a shorted cell).  Been recovering from 6 nights of camping amongst snoring campers and resulting sleep deprivation {:>), so need to get back out to the aircraft and check things out.

Hi Ed, if you  discharge a battery below 10V they are sometime permanently damaged. You may  have a shorted cell that makes the alternator work harder?
