I would if I could, Mark, and just beat them to snore time.  I have come to the conclusion that the reason the snorers always seem to beat me to sleep is that they are greatly sleep deprived themselves and therefore fall asleep quickly.

I Kept telling myself to bring my ear plugs from the aircraft, but I only thought of that each evening when the snoring started and by the next day had forgotten my vow to plug my ears {:>)

Ed,
The trick is to snore louder than everyone else.  ;-)

I am not certain about the getting old part {:>), but I am certainly a lighter sleeper than I once was.  In any case, after the torrential rains Monday night (for which Friends had fortunately convinced me to share their motel room) and the snoring the rest of the week, I am just about convinced to do the same.

I camped there ONCE years ago by some all-night beer drinkers, and swore: Never Again! I go to a motel. Part of getting old I guess :)

I had forgotten about that possibility.  That might also account for the lower than normal alternator voltage (drawing current through a shorted cell).  Been recovering from 6 nights of camping amongst snoring campers and resulting sleep deprivation {:>), so need to get back out to the aircraft and check things out.

Hi Ed, if you  discharge a battery below 10V they are sometime permanently damaged. You may  have a shorted cell that makes the alternator work harder?
