And by the way I will be one of your first customers as I have a "Cassutt" project that
is begging for a Rotary engine (if I live long enough !!)................<:)

Jarrett,

One of the guys from the Pacific Northwest that used to post with the Flyrotary group a
few years ago made a wood and foam mockup of his vision of a Rotary  back-plate and
had it mounted on a RV4 "Dynafocal" mount and firewall and showed it at his EAA chapter
meeting...........I have a photo of it on one of my computers..........For whatever reason he
did not go forward with it...............I bugged him periodically about the chances of it being
produced then finally gave up and bit the bullet ($$$) for the "Mistral" back-plate then had
to wait 2 years for it..............I really hope that with your talent and equipment it will become
a reality as I know it would really help "Standardize" Rotary installations from the current
mishmash of engine mounts............

My wife was just asking me why I was drooling on the keyboard..  :)   Once I get those scans in my hand..it is going to be hard to find time to sleep at night!

This is just incredible! I'm stuck w/ a perma-grin.

I just might have to roust up a 3D model of the mount here yet tonight!

Thanks for saving me the time of looking for it!

The scanning should give in the tens of thousands [0.01"] or less depending on what type of equipement used etc.   That in conjunction w/ bolt hold placement that I already have [lots of collected data over the years] I should be able to duplicate the basic geometry. From there it will become a new product in that we want to make it something that works for everyone [or as many as possible] to make it a viable unit. That info, mixed w/ knowing what the 'Standard' mount geometry is should get us where we need to go.

Best regards
