You are right it goes only one way.  I removed it to find out, so this is not my problem, still searching.  I hesitated to remove the wheel because the engine is in the plane and it is hard to get at.  Thanks

Restarting the engine after the overhaul.  It seems to be running on rotor no. 1 only.
The diagnostics on the EC3 reveal that the injectors are firing and the spark plugs also.
 
My question is did I reinstall the timing wheel wrong.  It seems there is only one way (because of the bolt holes) to install that wheel.   Would installing it wrong give me the problem I got now?
