That's right Kelly. His last engine, he's been racing it for 3 years and that's 9-11000 RPM.
He does not do anything else after lapping.

Kelly,
My hangar mate who races rotaries, does it a different way. He lays
one housing down, smears some valve grinding compound,
lays the other housing on top, and starts sliding it around. Soon
you'll start seeing the high and low spots on both housings. Grind
until satisfied :)
