Not at all. The post suggested that the LS1 coils are substandard
products, and that this "idiot" attempted to launch with a known
problem. The essence of the story was lost in the thinly veiled attempt
at ridicule.
As anyone who's read my website will know, I'm big on posting the
details of problems whether they're embarrassing or not. And yes, I've
had my share of dumb mistakes too. Anything that cas help others to
avoid the same dumb mistakes is worth the effort.

The LS1 are substandard coils ?
I know Tracy recommends and uses the LS1 (D580) but has two failures with
the D581 truck coils, due to over heating. This was obviously recognised by
the manufacture by providing a heat sink to the D581 and calling it a D585
and Tracy does not now recommend the D581 - I believe.
However I believe that a cold air inlet directed to the coils is recommended
because of heat at the high end usage of Aviation.
I don't believe the LS1 are considered substandard!
