WOW, 20 clicks AND cold start!   Good grief it's cold up there.

Thanks for the feedback Todd.  I'm using about 4 - 6 clicks in mild weather with mix at full rich but without cold start.  Based on your experience and what I'm seeing here in Fla. I will increase the primer pulse width.

The Auto Tune is now a standard feature in the EM2 and I've had good success with it.  Unfortunately I have not gotten much feedback from the field so I do not have a lot of confidence in the instructions furnished with it yet.  It always seems that the engineer who designs a widget is incapable of describing how to use it to anyone else.  Guess that’s why 'real' companies devote a separate department to documentation.

Concerning your EM2 display glitch,  did you extend the cable between the DAQ module and the display?  If it is over 3 or so feet you are probably getting self induced crosstalk in the cable.  There is a filter mod that will take care of that.  I'll be glad to install it and the auto tune if you like.

Hi Tracy;
    Yup, I've had the updated chip since last spring. It does work, but in these cold temps (-15C), I still need to set mixture at full rich, cold start on, then it takes between 20 & 30 clicks of the primer function and it will start right up. Less than 20 clicks and it just coughed a bit. The fuel was old though, but I've since filled up with fresh fuel, but not had the opportunity to do a cold start. It almost seems that I couldn't flood it if I tried. I doubt that most of your other users would require more but I'd like to have a little longer pulse for each click.
    Is there any other new updates to the EC2 chip, that I should get? What about the EM2 with autotune? Is that now fully available or is it just a few beta versions out there? If so is it compatible with the early versions of the EC2 (big box) and EM2 ? While my tuning is pretty good right now, I still have some work to do on the low MAP table, so would really like to have the autotune capability. I still get the occasional character shift to the left on my EM2 display, requiring a reboot. My display wire cable is well shielded now as previously there was allot of problems with this. I don't suppose there is any known fix for this at this time?

Glad to hear that you are flying again Todd.  BTW, you are the one who inspired the new Primer function on the EC2.  Can't remember if yours has it or not.  If so, are you using it and how does it work at low temperatures?
