Kelly, you should have seen me when they first introduced metric into Australia ( 77/78 I think). I was building my house and I used metric for the first time - well I cut this length of timber 3 times and still got it wrong - back to inches.

The government was determined we had to move to metric and even insisted on all tape measures were in metric - that lasted about 6 months- there was a  lot of complaints. Now most of the tape measures have both measurements.

BTW now I use both!
