Well, I just
ordered two new rotors, a rear housing, and intermediate housing from
Mazdaformance. I talked to Bruce about supplying all this, but his prices
weren't any better, and his ceramic coating shop can take from 2-3 weeks and up
to deliver. Knowing how busy he
is, and how impatient I am, I figured I'd be better off to just handle all this
myself.
I'll have all this stuff by the middle of next week.
The plan is to send the two new rotors, and perhaps my good front rotor to
Performance Coatings for the ceramic treatment. I'll have to port the
rear and intermediate housings to match the way the old ones were done.
This will require some more of that "education and entertainment" that the FAA
allows us :-)
Since I have this oil/water
exchanger from Ken Welter, I'm so very tempted to try it with my existing two
evap cores. I can't imagine I could get away with it, but I also don't
think it will hurt to take a spin around the pattern with it. Fortunately,
it's easy to hook up, so I won't be out a lot of time and effort if it doesn't
work. I'm trying to talk myself out of it, but you know how that goes
:-)
Cheers,
Rusty
