Very surprising about your evap. core leaks Rusty.  Both of my 70's vintage cores have moderate dents & dings on the segmented tanks but have never leaked.  Now they have only 30 psi coolant pressure but were tested to 200 psi w/ air before installation 11 years ago.  Had originally planed to use them only for trial fitting but since they worked, I got cheap and kept them.

I'm a little disturbed by it, but am willing to consider it a fluke for now.

Do you happen to know how much pressure is in these cores when used for Freon?  I was assuming it was high, but since these are on the low pressure side, it may not be more than 80-100.  If that's the case, I may have to consider going back to my Setrab.  I do remember that Lynn (sure miss having him around the list) said they use these for race cars, so they must be capable.

As a side note, the oil leak disgusted me so much that I think I've finally realized I don't need another project.  With that in mind, I just bought perhaps the best Kolb Slingshot ever built, with a 912S, and only 220 hours on the plane and engine.  I just couldn't ignore the fact that it was $10k-$15k cheaper than I could build one.  I'll plan to get it next weekend from MS.

Cheers,
Rusty (not getting much done on the RV-3 at the moment)
