In my experience Turtle Wax Car Wash/Wax solution when mixed in a bucket
with about ten times the water and whipped into a froth with a garden
sprayer is the perfect solution to remove bugs and debris from your aircraft
without the use of solvents or harshly alkaline emulsifiers.

Take a wash mitt and just coat the entire airplane with solution and before
it starts to dry just do it again and the bugs will just wipe off with no
scrubbing.  A wax/soap residue will be left behind making it easier to clean
the next time.  Take care not to load up the wash mitt, so rinse in the
solution often. Then just spray of with the hose and dry.

This works well on the canopy as well.

It will not work on the oil streak underneath where a safe solvent like
D-Limonene should be used carefully and rinsed well.
