I don't fly in the DC area but am planning a trip there in July. We have a friend that runs the flying club at Fort Meade FME. He is reccomending it as a place to put down and keep the plane for the two weeks we plan to be there. It looks like a nice airport. It may be too far away from Downtown DC for you but you might check. Let me know and I will see if I can get you his number.
I plan to file IFR into the area. That will let them know who I am and where I am going.
