Dan,
ACK is located in San Jose, not too far from our shop. I've been there many
times trying to sort out problems, get warranty, etc. Save yourself a lot
of trouble and just get a different ELT. We've had so many problems with
ACKs, including trip switch failures and the false trips you're having, that
we just quit installing them. I'd say 25% fail annual inspection. When
they fail we just replace them with something else. The price is tempting
but the quality is just not there.
AmeriKing's unit has worked well for us. The control head is a little
bigger than the ACK.

your ACK ELT trips on. I have had this problem with my COM2 since first
flight last summer and am now getting to doing something about it. < < <
