Glad your bird was undamaged.
 
I had a bird strike on takeoff last summer at Salem, Oregon on our way to the EAA Fly-in at Arlington, Wash.
 
I was about 100 feet agl.  The bird hit the bottom cowl right at and below the carb. intake. I picked feathers and part of a wing out of the intake screen.  It was not enough blockage to change engine operation.  Of course there was a mess to clean off the cowl in the intake area.  No cowl damage occurred.  The feathers are now hanging as a souvenir in the hanger.
