I'm flattered! Your too kind. That is actually Daniel (10 yr old) in
that photo.
Over the 1000 mile course I'd hardly say one is faster than the other
with only a 2 minute difference in total time. Great fun Mark!
The amazing thing about the LNC2 race this year was that on both legs
Mark's airplane was discernably faster at takeoff. In Kitty Hawk, he
passed me with more than a couple kt advantage. Over the two hour leg
my plane seemed to gain that 1/4 kt to edge him out. Altitudes were
different on the first leg, however on day 2 we flew co-altitude close
aboard for the whole race. What gives?
We're burning almost identical fuel flows. Both aircraft with header
tanks. Someone please enlighten us.......
