Rob,

I had the same situation for heating as you.

I found a used heater that was removed a friends home and mounted it to the
wall in my 3 car garage with the plenum going up to the ceiling and then
exiting toward the other end of the garage.

These heaters can be found for very little money. Most are replaced by units
that have ac condensers in them and many are in decent working order and are
simply tossed out.
I would call some hvac dealers in your area and let them know what you are
looking for.

I got mine for $75 and installed it myself.

I was going to run a duct accross to the other side of the garage where my
aiplane project is but found it was unnessary because the heater will heat
the entire garage from 40 up to a balmy 72 in about 10 minutes.

Run your gas line, throw a thermostat on the wall and run a small exhaust
throug the roof and you have it.

It is not a bad idea to put a carbonmonixide sniffer in to be on the safe
side.

I noticed about $25-30 increase in my gas bill in the winter when I am using
the heat in the garage.

What a deal!
