Mike: I'm climbing full rich at 160 KIAS and a fuel flow of 30-31 gph
(VM1000) at 32" and 2500 rpm. The problem seems to be that the fuel flow
starts to decrease to 28 gph at around 17,000 feet resulting in a rapid rise
in the EGTs, TITs, and CHTs (limiting the climb to 19,000 or so). Please
comment on what might be causing the decrease in fuel flow at 17,000. On the
trip back from Florida yesterday I put on high fuel boost when the problem
started to occur at 17,000. The fuel transiently rose above 30 gph only to
immediately return to about 28 gph without and change in the mixture. I
thought that I would have to immediately lean the mixture when the full
boost was applied; surprise!

John
