Rob,

The nomex prepreg sheets come in different selections (90 or 45 degree weave orientation, 2 bid per side, 3 bid per side, etc). The most common is a 2-core-2  45 degree but 3-core-3 and higher are available. I believe that this is what the manual is referring to when it says 2 bid per side. Using the 2-core-2 or higher is fine without applying additional bids. This is what we did on our 320 and is what all of the 320/360 builders that I’m familiar with have done.

Subject: [LML] L360 manual interpretation

Another question from down under.

I have been reading the chapter in the manual about cockpit installations. (Ch 16 in the fast build manual). On page 16-7 it specifies the seat back bulkhead should be made of “………1/2” white foam (or 3/8 Nomex honeycomb) with 2 Bid per side”. My quandary is as to whether this 2 Bid per side is required if I am using Nomex honeycomb, or is it only required if I am using foam?

What have other builders done?

Thanks again.
