I looked around at cole hersee's website and couldn't find specs on break current, or lifetime vs. break current for 24008.   ...seems like a conspicuous omission for this kind of application.

I'm going to check the rest of my relays for correct type. Hersee 24144 (24v) is what I welded shut, and it is a continuous duty relay.  24008 is the correct part # for intermittent.

This happened to me, you can weld the solenoid  if let the battery get too low. Sounds like this is what you did. The problem is not the solenoid but low voltage.
