Subject: IV-P Fuel Line Question

Earlier today I visited a IV-P under construction and discovered that the fuel system used -6 lines from the wings to the selector valve and then -8 lines to the boost pump and to the gascolator.  I questioned him why he did it that way and he said those were the fittings that were supplied with the kit for that purpose.  It's been almost 15 years since I did any plumbing on a IV-P but my recollection is that all lines from the wings to the gascolator were -8 and I know for a fact that the Legacy is that way.  Has anyone seen this before?  It seems to me that the -6 would be marginal in flow capacity.  He hasn't installed the fuselage top yet so now would be the time for him to change things.  Any feedback or thoughts on this would be appreciated and I'll pass them along to him.  I'll also try to get him on the LML.  He hadn't heard of it.  Thanks in advance.
