I want to take high altitude training. However when I tried to sign up,
the FAA said the Air Force cancelled its altitude chamber agreement and
that training is no longer available.
There's a CAMI group doing FAA sponsored safety seminars in an ambient
pressure room that drops the O2 level. The room is portable and was in
Oklahoma City in November. I can get you some contact details if you're
unable to find one scheduled in your area.
I found that some of the symptoms I experienced in the FAA's altitude
chamber were physiological responses to drop in pressure rather than
hypoxia. In many ways, the new portable system is more useful in
identifying hypoxia.
