I would consider using a new ignition system under one of two conditions: Either it was developed by a large, mainstream manufacturer and has been used for at least 10 years by thousands of customers - OR if Brent Regan was involved.
As for Steve's report of no improvement in "static RPM, climb rate or fuel burn" I wouldn't expect any. The spark will most likely not be advanced from standard in any of those modes. But I would expect an improvement in high-altitude climb rate and in cruise speed at altitudes above 12,000. And I don't know the difference between "curve A" and "curve B."

I can confirm a rumor, from a very reliable source, that a new electronic ignition is in the final stages of testing. I won’t mention the names of who is involved, but their initials are Brent Regan and Monty Barrett. This is just between us, OK?

Just did my first "long" trip: 6-hours MYF-CMA-TRK-VNY-CMA-MYF on my new P-Mag. Operated perfectly, but made no difference in static RPM, climb rate or fuel burn. However I'm on curve A so will clip the jumper and try curve B then post a report. Stand by.
