Dan,

I agree that 1/2" lines are far superior to the 3/8" original design.  Something else to think about is removing as many of the 90 degree fittings from the lines as possible.  Tim Ong quoted me some percentage loss of flow in every 90 degree fitting and I remember it being significant. Since my ES is unpressurized, I snaked a continuous hose from the wing to the fuel selector and sealed the fuselage with silicone.  Sure, it's quite a bit heavier than the aluminum tubing, but bending the 1/2" aluminum tubing is tough to do without an expensive bender.  I also used the large radius 90s similar to this one to eliminate the flow issues...

LML Gang,

I’m building a piston IV-P and am near ready to close out the first wing.  The kit I have came with 3/8” fittings for the fuel lines.  However, I seem to recall some of you changing that out for ½” lines and hose.

What is the wisdom on this?  Is the standard 3/8” sufficient or is ½” necessary?  ½” is certainly going to have less losses but will also have more weight and will be more work and cost to swap out.
