With due respect, I do not think an average AP such as myself is competent to a prebuy on a homebuilt plane, especially one as sophisicated as a Lancair.
A friend's 360 was destroyed in a force landing due to fuel exhaustion because the original builder used a light cotter pin instead a clevis bolt in the fuel selctor shaft.
The cotter pin sheared and the pilot was unable to switch tanks.
Much has been written about the hydraulic landing gear cylinders, etc.
I think one be best to find an experienced builder to inspect the aircraft.
