No, I didn't have the desire or initiative to disassemble it and felt
that would be like disassembling a Swiss watch.... I'd hardly know what I was
looking at, let alone recognize a problem (I did send it to Oildyne
for rebuild, which had virtually no effect). As stated in my most recent post,
the earlier powerpacks are JUNK compared to the newer model, which operates
SMOOTHLY and QUIETLY and retracts the gear in 4-5 seconds (versus 8-10 seconds
for the older model)
Here is a link to a photo that was snapped during takoff. I was midfield,
about 100 ft and the gear was already fully retracted....
So
Bill, in the past, there have been a number of issues in the pump that could
cause your symptoms. 1) no spring in the shuttle, 2) internal design
defect....
By chance, did you look inside the old pump and find the
difference?
