A related issue to consider: on my Legacy, I had a recent issue where the nose strut appeared to be slightly overextended after an inspection.  This engaged the centering feature which made taxiing difficult and alerted me to the issue.  Lancair wrote me that the strut needs to be at least 1/2 inch compressed from full extension with full static weight in order to disengage the centering.   A small amount of pressure was let out from the valve, lowering the nose slightly, and the issue disappeared.  If filling, just be aware of the centering feature if that is applicable to your aircraft.

Will this technique work on a Legacy?
