Does
anyone have a copy of the installation instructions for the Bob Archer SA-009
marker beacon antenna? When I opened the box today (which I first opened
about 7 years ago) I could not find the
instructions.
Rob,
Egads man, I built the ADF antenna into the fuselage ceiling in 1990
and, once I started flying for real in 1997, I only used the ADF for its AM
radio reception (dead now, what with XM). The marker beacon is
history. Any approach with a GPS as backup, noting every waypoint you
could ever possibly want to know about, makes the rather inaccurate marker
beacon a, uh, relic.
If it is a long center tapped foil antenna, just glue it longwise in the
bottom of the plane.
Marker Beacon, my oh my.
Grayhawk
PS there is no approach altitude penalty if the beacon radio is
inop.
PPS I put in an audio feed to the sound system and the panel is marked
"Audio Data Fortifier" so I didn't have to change the breaker label
"ADF" when I pulled the radio.
