While on the subject of painting, does anyone have experience with HVLP spray guns. I see them advertised in various Homebuilding magazines and wonder if they are capable of the quality a Lancair, or similar aircraft deserve. Some are even advertised as having two outputs, one for the spray gun and one for the operator.

{It is my understanding that the HVLP guns which operate with shop air are
less desirable than the ones that use a dedicated HVLP air delivery system
such as the one you described. It would seem to me that if one were going
to be painting with the toxic paints (ie, urethanes, Imron, etc) that
getting an air source capable of handling both life support as well as the
sprayer would be an excellent choice. They are pricey buggers, though,
aren't they? <Marv> ]
